Journal | August 15, 2019 Good morning from Paris! I am sitting at a little wooden desk with fresh roses on it in between two large, floral-draped windows, looking out over the city. A large tray of coffee, croissants, jams, cheese, yoghurt and fruit is brought up to us each morning with the daily newspaper & it’s just a dream. Paris is beautiful, natural & feminine.
I simply loved Paris . . . everything about it resonated with me. The beige colored buildings with ornate details, countless street side cafes with the opportunity to sit down and grab an espresso or croissant always around the corner, incredible clothing boutiques, thrift and flower shops, the dominance of art and flower gardens and the priority of taking in life leisurely and deeply as to enjoy the moment and taste and sight that you’re experienceing.
I will not list an itinerary here as we spent our time quite leisurely, sleeping in and enjoying breakfast in bed until quite late; browsing through the streets of Marais where we stayed and enjoying good food and wine. We did catch a good show and walked through Montmarte (which was lovely! and had such a good view of the Paris from above), see the Eiffel and walk through the gardens in the city. If I returned, I think I would want to make a trip to Monet’s Garden in Giverny and explore the French countryside.

Caron de Beaumarchais, Marais
“A hotel quintessentially French.” Hotel Marais Caron de Beaumarchais was such a treasure to find. It is found in a historical building with beautifully authentic Parisian style doting some of the most personal service I've received. If you're looking for a boutique hotel with that big window city view (windows open out), huge floral drapes, fresh flowers, artisan furnishings and breakfast in bed - this is it! There was someone at the desk at all times to take care of us, keep our keys, answer our questions and book things for us. They were 100% at our disposal. Marais, in my opinion is one the best part of Paris to stay in as well. Not dominantly touristy, but chalked full of cafes, bakeries, thrift and clothing shops and just steps from the river. We had dinner and late night wine a few steps from here almost every night at different places.
