Introducing Myself As A Florist
Hello, welcome. If you don't know me already, my heart beats for authenticity. I want to share life with others! I want to know what's on your heart and be a friend. In return, I'll tell you what's on mine and offer beauty (in whatever form that comes in my day - sometimes that's flowers, sometimes it's fashion, sometimes coffee, sometimes heart issues). That's what this blog is about and I cherish each one of you who are apart of it!
Today, I'd like to introduce myself as a florist. I am establishing myself in a new city and just felt that I should make the distinction. I am a farmer/ florist to be exact. I grow the flowers that I use in designs, 90% of them from seed, and supplement them for weddings and events! I create, natural, free-flowing designs imitating what you would see in the wild with a bit of artistic flair. I would say that my handprint would be a very simple, fresh, feminine and happy touch. I love pink - if you do too, then I'm your girl! - but I also love a deep romantic wine, all the colors of fall and anything white and green. As a farmer florist, I strive to create artistic displays for your weddings or events that reflect who you are and steal the show!
If you would like to discuss working together on a wedding or event please contact me through my contact page. I work out of Bridgeport, WV am originally from Dundee, Ohio and am willing to travel.
This Week: Each week I construct a new bouquet from whatever is flourishing in my garden and share it on Instagram, sometimes picking a single flower as inspiration. Below, I'll share with you the process...
Mid-summer my garden is flourishing, just getting to my favorite stage! Every morning I peak out and think that it gets better and better each time! I had wonderful ingredients to work with this week, inspired by my first Dinnerplate Dahlia! (It's hard to see but this dahlia is 8-1/2 inches wide!)
I decided to do a natural white and green arrangement with touches of soft pink and yellow.
INGREDIENTS: Dinnerplate Dahlia (ivory), Double Cosmos (Snowball white), Nicotiana (Flowering Tobacco), white Tea Roses, willow branches, foraged greens, eucalyptus, burnt orange Amaranth, Chantilly Snapdragon, Zinderella Zinnia, Double Petunia.

Happy September 12th Friends,
I'm curled up in a blanket on the floor writing to you on this chilly Saturday morning. There was a fresh rain last night and this morning and I can't help but feel autumn coming on.
Last night I clipped off all of the blooms in my garden in order to get a fresh display of blooms in two weeks when I will harvest flowers for our Women's Ministry retreat. I planted a big array of September blooming flowers this year for this purpose. So, knowing that I would need to prune, I decided to put together a fall inspired bouquet with the clippings!
Since it is peak grape season as well and I have some gorgeous jewel toned flowers I decided to make a Grapevine Inspired Bouquet, and I have to say I was overjoyed with the outcome!
My heart was so filled with joy at these colors and so pleased at the display that turned out. The Lord has been drawing me to spend more time with Him lately and today I had this beautiful reminder of just how sweet His presence is....
When you're in His presence you feel washed, clean. Oneness with Him spreads his purity upon us. There's a glowing joy. Something of lovely holiness. We need this communion.
I pray today that you have the opportunity to steal away with you Savior and are filled with fullness of joy!
