I had so much fun designing floral art for this wedding! When Keylea described her colors as a plum/ oxblood // almost black shade, I knew it was going to be a fun wedding! It’s so refreshing to do something new and unique and although I tend toward lighter & brighter colors, I can’t say that I don’t LOVE to play with a moody palette as well! We chose to use artichoke as the centerpiece complimented with dark plum continue foliage (the back of which leaf is a beautiful sage), dusty plums like Menthe rose, Cafe Au Lait dahlia and speckled carnation surrounded by deep burgundy amaranth and scabiosa. My favorite piece may have been the scented geranium leaf though with it’s spicy scent and soft fuzzy skin. Succulents & Heuchera leaves were used as boutonniere’s and tied up with hand dyed scarlet silk. The sweetest element of all the beauty I think turned out to be the delicate gold hair clips suited with tiny, ethereal ruby roses for the maids. The wedding was held at the beautiful Pete Dye Golf Course here in Bridgeport, one of my favorite venues to work with. We set up a floral archway at the alter, aisle lined with chair flowers and compotes of deep roses at the front. It was a beautiful autumn day in October.
